Achievements

Realizing the importance of primary education, the present government is working relentlessly to ensure equitable and quality primary education. Pre-primary education has been introduced in government primary schools to ensure 100 per cent enrollment in the district with a view to reducing the teacher-student-student-class ratio. In the light of the real demand, 58 posts of 1 office guard have been created in each government primary school. In order to create a conducive environment for education at school level, 38 washblocks have been constructed including installation of 213 tube wells. A total of 42,878 free textbooks have been distributed among all students by 2021 to ensure compulsory primary education. In addition, biscuits have been provided to the students under the school feeding scheme along with stipends to the students under the education assistance program of poor families for the purpose of completing primary education including prevention of drop out. Besides, khichuri is being provided to the students of some schools as a school mill. Student councils have been formed in 162 primary schools. The activities of each child (ECL) will be implemented in 20 primary schools. In order to decentralize the school based development plan, 182 primary schools are being allocated a minimum of Rs 40,000 per school per annum for the implementation of School Level Improvement Plan (SLIP). Since 2009, the final examination of primary and ibtedayi education is being taken regularly. From 2017 to 2019, the pass rate in the final examination in Magura district was 96.11%, 98.57% and 95.92% respectively. Bangabandhu and Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament has been organized since 2012. At the same time inter-primary school sports and cultural competitions are being held in all the primary schools of Magura district.
